Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to join the TSRC and SWFT program in Panama City Beach, FL:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and teammates to design, develop and support multiple products

  • Generate and update software engineering tickets to track requirements for development

  • Evaluates user requests for development and modification of applications to determine feasibility, cost and time requirements, and system compatibility

  • Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining developed software solutions

  • Responsible for documenting software design architectures and implementations

  • Responsible for design/coding decisions with a focus on UI/UX in order to create a positive user experience

  • Process feedback from code reviews and apply changes to meet requirements/changes

  • Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures

  • Anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before they require escalation related to developed software solutions

  • Develop software solutions through the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from start to finish, including follow-on support and maintenance

  • Apply industry standard best practice as it relates to software engineering, to include code scanning and vulnerability mitigation

  • Participate in infrastructure design and security as it relates to developed software and operating environments


Required Education and Experience :

Bachelors and two (2) years or more related experience; Masters and zero (0) years related experience; four(4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree


  • Ability to code in multiple languages, with preferred proficiency in C#/VB.NET with a solid understanding of .NET framework (experience with Angular is a plus)

  • It’s beneficial, but not required to have experience deploying software to staging and production environments using automated processes (e.g. continuous integration/continuous deployment)

  • Ability to solve complicated problems with custom developed software solutions

  • Knowledge of software development principles and best practices

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Basic understanding of SQL Server, Java Script, Coding Knowledge

  • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing

  • Proficiency in software engineering tools and frameworks, to include Microsoft .NET, VSCode, and Docker

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, to include web service capabilities such as Internet Information Services (IIS)

  • Knowledge with Cloud technologies, includes AWS and Azure

  • Experience developing web application frontends that communicate with backend APIs

  • Experience troubleshooting server operating system issues to resolve problems related to developed software solutions, to include security patching and system administration tasks

  • Experience using software versioning platforms utilizing git

  • Experience with Github, Gitlab, and JIRA

  • Experience operating and developing queries for various database platforms (primarily Microsoft SQL)


US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. A minimum of an interim Secret clearance is required to begin work.

Required Certification:

CompTIA Security+ certification is required prior to first day of employment
