Description

Are you an experienced Senior Accountant with a solid background in accounting within the manufacturing industry? Key Responsibilities:

Financial Close Process: You will play a pivotal role in the monthly financial close process, with a focus on heavy reconciliations and the posting of numerous journal entries. This includes ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

Standard Costing: Apply your expertise in standard costing principles to analyze, maintain, and improve cost standards, ensuring that they accurately represent manufacturing operations.

Freight and Purchase Price Invoicing: Oversee the tracking and accounting of freight and purchase price invoicing to accurately reflect costs associated with the procurement of materials and transportation.

Variances: Monitor and analyze cost variances and discrepancies, identifying areas for potential cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Billings: Manage the billing process, ensuring that it aligns with accounting principles and client requirements.

Cost of Sales Inventory: Contribute to the maintenance and analysis of cost of sales inventory, helping to optimize inventory management and valuation.

Fixed Assets: Assist in the management of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Revenue Recognition: Play a key role in revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Monitor and report on COGS to provide insights into manufacturing cost trends and profitability.

Debits and Credits: A strong understanding of debits and credits is vital to maintaining accurate and balanced financial records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in the manufacturing industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of standard costing, freight accounting, and purchase price invoicing.

  • Proficiency in reconciliations, journal entries, and financial close processes.

  • Familiarity with cost of sales inventory, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and cost of goods sold.

  • Excellent understanding of debits and credits.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
