Lockheed Martin Subcontract Manager / Orlando FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Subcontract Manager for a position in Orlando, FL to lead program Internal Research & Development (IR&D) efforts within the Air Dominance programs area. Responsible for interfacing with the program IR&D team to specifically lead the material/subcontract efforts. This effort includes working with established Supplier Management Teams (SMTs) to ensure program IR&D efforts are placed and managed to support program cost, schedule and performance requirements.

The program is a very dynamic, early development program in support of a DoD prime contract. Effects of decisions are long lasting and heavily influence future course of organization.

Duties include:

Working with program IR&D team to generate and manage subcontracts for all major components procured on program.

Leading the IR&D efforts across the existing program SMTs.

Working with the program IR&D team to generate, manage and implement IR&D initiatives across the program supply base.

Performs price analysis, use of cost evaluations for development of pre-negotiation strategies, as required.

Leads negotiations and completion of subcontract / Purchase Order (PO) documentation, invoice reconciliation and payment, as required.

Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts, as required.

Interfaces with government clients, technical personnel and other functional organizations both within Lockheed Martin and within suppliers organizations.

Holds procurement delegation and signs supplier agreements and purchase orders within established authority, as required.

Leads team to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation and follow through.

Works with program management and other areas of the business for timely conclusion of subcontract IR&D matters and resolution of issues.

This position will require travel.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a current DoD Secret clearance, with a background investigation completed within the past five years

Experience with US DoD subcontract management.

Experience with the procurement of specialized materials, complex assemblies, and equipment within Defense or Aerospace industries

Knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures such as Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP), with associated knowledge of FAR / DFAR requirements

Demonstrated negotiation skills

Working knowledge of standard contract types

Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Team oriented with demonstrated organizational skills

Strong interpersonal skills and Demonstrated communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters which often requires coordination between functional organizations

Demonstrated problem solving skills

Business acumen and ability to make business-based decisions

Self-motivated, ownership of tasks and accountable

Able to work independently and in a team environment

Able to work with all levels of management

Able to travel

Desired Skills:

Demonstrated ability to lead a team

Experience working developmental US DoD contracts.

Cross-functional knowledge of Supplier Quality and Engineering as they relate to subcontract management

IPT / SMT leadership experience
