Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel trucks ranging from 28 feet in length to 56 feet. Work primarily involves Freightliner trucks with engines, brakes, transmissions, and more. Perform daily preventative maintenance in addition to repair work. Additionally, work on Toyota forklifts and Crown pallet jacks as needed. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable with the use of diagnostic software and scanner tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain semi trucks and trailers.

• Perform 80% of work on diesel equipment, including both preventative and reactive maintenance.

• Make repairs on trailers, including but not limited to wiring brake lights, replacing brakes, changing tires, and repairing hydraulics.

• Perform DOT inspections and document findings.

• Replace water pumps and AC systems as needed.

• Retrieve work orders from an iPad and log repairs and check out parts through the work orders on the iPad.

• Weld or use torches as required.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience working with diesel engines.

• Experience working on brakes.

• Certifications to work on brakes.

• Hydraulic experience.

• Trailer maintenance experience.

Work Environment

Clean and organized. Although the facility is non-climate controlled, it is fully covered and has fans. Shifts available include one position on 2nd Shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and two positions on 3rd Shift (11 PM - 7 AM). Openings are available from Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday. Training will be on 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM).

This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, Florida.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00
