Responsibilities and Qualifications
In this role, you will monitor the transportation/Logistics budget to assist in ensuring funds are properly utilized and assist with implement organizational objectives as dictated by management. Daily tasks include supervising employee performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and ensuring all shipments depart and arrive on time. You will manage databases and provide reporting that details transport activities, financial accountings, employee schedules and personnel records. Management also relies on you to manage departmental employee performance issues, hiring recommendations, training staff in department policies and procedures, and sharing information about new laws or technological advances. In addition, you must often serve as a point of contact for carriers, building relationships, managing problems, and optimizing processes to ensure company goals for OT performance are met.
This position works in a fast-paced environment, requiring an individual to be an effective team player, the ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities and possess both interpersonal and technical skills. Must be able to remain calm under pressure and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Required to follow all company procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:
Arrange the delivery products to domestic customers oversee the time delivery of goods.
Ensure delivery schedules are met and track deliveries, update and provide tracking information
Ensure the TMS is used to review and select cost effective transportation solutions
Work with outside transportation companies, to investigate customer complaints, and investigate delivery issues including damaged products and late or lost deliveries
Perform Log Pro TMS system inquires
Responsible for Amazon routing and to research and open Vendor Central tickets as needed
Ensure proper execution of transportation routing submissions for collect specified customers
Execute small parcel shipment processing using such as FEDEX and UPS
Ensure annual RFP process for Full Truck Load (FTL) and less than Truckload (LTL) completed
Confirm the compliant shipping of Hazardous goods, including processing of required paperwork
Execute Return Authorization Shipment Requisition Requests
Research Chargeback requests from Vendor Compliance respond to customer service emails
Ensure RTV shipments are processed according to established process
Coordinate with shipping dock to ensure all domestic orders are shipped and delivered on time
Oversee all domestic shipments within the US including Alaska/Puerto Rico/Hawaii
Communicate overages, shortages and errors on receipts to the appropriate business partners
Communicate with Accounting and Inventory teams on receiving purchase order (RPO) errors
Communicate with Marketing Dept. to receive inbound marketing items into inventory
Work with accounting department to review, revise and setup missing receiving purchase orders
Maintain arrival and delivery status of inbound shipments within the AS400 ERP system
Ensure the completion and reporting of nightly invoicing using the AS400 ERP system
Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
4-year degree in either Business, Logistics/ Supply Chain Management, or equivalent + 3 years applicable work experience
Experience with AS400 preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office; special emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Experience presenting data through KPI’s to measure performance
Ecommerce shipping experience a plus
Mental Requirements:
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and automated warehouse management systems; good reading and comprehensive skills; effective interpersonal skills; good understanding of sound safety practices and good housekeeping requirements; effective communication skills; proven record of good internal and external customer service skills; detail oriented
Working Environment:
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends from time to time
