We are looking for a driven professional with an inclusive mindset to join our team as Senior Director, Total Rewards based at our Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL. This role leverages deep functional expertise and industry knowledge to design and deliver innovative broad-based compensation and benefits programs. A customer service mindset and collaboration with HR and Business Leaders will be key enablers to delivering strategies that attract, reward and retain our greatest asset - our people.
What you'll do:
Provide strategic direction to the Total Rewards team to effectively evaluate, design, implement, and communicate programs, policies, and initiatives that are in line with Crate & Barrel’s financial goals and enable the Company to attract, motivate and retain top talent
Lead the annual compensation planning cycle, providing expert counsel on the design, development and administration of executive, sales, and associate compensation programs, salary structures, and short- and long-term incentives
Oversee the annual compensation budgeting process, leading the team on bonus programs, merit cycle, and management of retirement plans
Direct the development and success of associate benefit programs including open enrollment, leaves of absence, and well-being; lead strategic relationships with brokers, insurance representatives, and their agents
Analyze market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of the compensation and benefit plans to ensure they optimize the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent; oversee and collaborate on revisions or new plans that are consistent with the total rewards strategy and philosophy
Consult and advise Business Leaders and HRBPs in matters involving job analysis, salary management, and compensation decisions
L ead and manage all aspects of executive compensation structure and recommendations
Manage and leverage key relationships with The Otto Group and board members relative to compensation and benefits committees
Actively manage, mentor and coach team members; inspire and encourage continued growth and development
What you'll bring:
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Business or related field
15+ years progressive experience with compensation design, including incentive, commission, structure and executive compensation; 5+ years experience leading and developing teams
Experience developing associate benefits programs, including developing policies and administrative regulations
Visionary leadership with successful track record in creating and leading cross-functional initiatives related to Compensation and Benefit strategies, and process implementation
Demonstrated experience in the following areas: executive compensation, salary planning, incentive plans, market pricing, job evaluation, data analysis, research and cost modeling
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior leaders, both internally and externally
Ability to influence, adapt and lead through ambiguity and change in a dynamic growth environment
Experience in implementing large scale change management initiative.
Strong strategic and analytical mindset; superior problem solving skills with a focus on simplification
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
