The Provider Engagement Representative is responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions within Optum, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, and training & development of external provider education programs. Provider Relations Advocates design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Responsibilities also include directing and implementing strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identifying gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs, and may also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims.

This position is unique to ISNP facilities and Primary Care Physicians
Provider Advocates in this role are the critical link to membership growth and new business development as well as building and maintaining PCP relationship

Ability to utilize Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations from scratch, update/edit existing presentations or templates
2+ years Provider Relations and/or Provider Network experience
Previous experience with Medicare and Medicaid Regulations
Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Word to create general correspondence, update information within forms / templates, utilization of spell and grammar check
Demonstrated ability utilizing Microsoft Excel to import data for reporting purposes, performing data entry, sorting /filtering, basic formulas and updating tables
Ability & willingness to travel up to 50% within the state of Georgia (primarily), Alabama, and Mississippi
If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
Ability to utilize Microsoft Access to obtain data, generate reports, and export data to Excel for Analysis and reporting
Previous experience with SalesForce databases
Previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility
