TheGuarantors Underwriting Manager in New York, New York

The Guarantors seeks an Underwriting Manager in New York, NY to strategically build and manage a team of underwriting direct reports within assigned region while being responsible for the profitability and production of the team per budget; Underwrite and manage assigned book of business; Manage and monitor overall pricing practices and targets; Develop marketing strategies to build assigned region through product presentations, agency product training, etc.; Delegate underwriting authority and monitor compliance within the assigned region; Conduct audits for quality control and conduct training where needed; Participate in Claim Review Meetings when applicable; Visit and develop rapport with key existing and prospective agents, as appropriate; Keeps current on all changes affecting unit's work production and on changes within the insurance industry; Maintain administrative records and administer the following for direct reports: performance reviews, salary reviews and attendance records; Develop and utilize management reports and analytics tools to assist in monitoring team and individual underwriter results; Participate in state pricing reviews, budget planning and territory reviews.Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is permitted.Requires Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Accounting, Auditing, Financial Actuarial Mathematics, or closely related field plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires one (1) year of experience in the following skills (i) multi-line underwriting and marketing; (ii) Risk assessment, pricing methodologies, policy terms and conditions, and underwriting guidelines; (iii) Gathering and analyzing relevant data, such as loss histories, claims data, market trends, and demographic information; (iv) Analyzing financial statements, assessing credit risk, and evaluating the impact of various risk factors on insurance portfolios; (v) Insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and industry-specific policies; (vi) Underwriting software systems, such as policy administration systems or underwriting platforms, to streamline processes, manage policies, and access relevant data; and (vii) Microsoft Excel, data visualization software, or actuarial software.To apply, visit & select specific job title.Salary:The base salary range for this position is between $87,818-$110,000 annually. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
