New York University Laboratory Associate (CNS - Vision Core) in New York, New York

The Center for Neural Science at New York University is searching for a full-time Laboratory Associate to join their team.

The successful candidate will join a team of researchers investigating the neural pathways of the visual system in primates. This work involves anatomical and physiological studies, primarily of neural circuits in visual cortex. The job responsibilities entail assisting in the histological aspects of this work, specifically the sectioning, staining, mounting, imaging and subsequent analysis of neural tissue. Additional opportunities to undertake guided research projects will be available. Good organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment are minimum requirements. Previous experience with histological preparations, microscopy, or in a general laboratory setting are a plus.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $42,000- $52,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

-Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, or other related field.

-This position is ideal for someone looking for 2 years of research experience before attending graduate or medical school.
