Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Capital Markets (BCM) is a single center of excellence across public and private market sourcing for the firm and co-investment and financing for our alternatives business. It is a holistic, comprehensive investment platform that provides solutions across the capital stack. BCM helps to deploy public and private capital in active portfolios within BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) (approximately $239bn of assets) and Portfolio Management Group (PMG) (approximately $3.1T of assets).
BAI offers access to a spectrum of alternative investments including hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure.
PMG is a single organization with seven portfolio management businesses: Fundamental Fixed Income, Municipals and FIG Fixed Income, Index Fixed Income and LDI, Fundamental Equities, Systematic Investments, Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions and Global Lending, Liquidity and Private Investors.
BlackRock is seeking an SSA and EM Debt Associate. The SSA and EM Associate, based in New York, will be responsible for leading the new issue syndication process in respect of SSAs and EM debt. The SSA and EM Debt Associate will report to the Head of IG Debt, US.
Help manage EM and SSA syndicate order process, including dissemination of new deal information to all constituents internally for compliance and order generation purposes, using proprietary technology platform
Assisting senior team members with the daily management of new issue processes as needed across both debt and equity capital markets
Learn and manage a variety of internal compliance, technology / data analytics infrastructure and business reporting systems, processes and procedures
Track and prepare weekly / quarterly / annual reporting metrics and prepare presentations on new issue market statistics, themes and dynamics
Aggregate and consolidate feedback from different investment teams and engage Investment Banks to obtain best outcome / allocation
Work with senior team members on fundamental company analysis to drive reverse inquiry investment idea generation
A passion for investing and financial markets
Proficient technology orientation. Strong Excel skills required; the following a plus: VBA, SQL, Python & Tableau
Multi-tasking in a time sensitive, fast paced environment; attention to detail mandatory
Strong oral and written communication skills (including preparation of presentations)
Self-starter who can work effectively with a team and within a larger organization
Experience: 2 - 4 years in financial services, preferably at an investment bank or buy-side institution, with previous exposure to general corporate finance, equity or debt capital markets
