About the role

CBRE’s Engineering Design practice has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Staff Designer with proven capabilities in delivering exceptional design solutions and electrical building systems for large commercial, public, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will join an engineering design team who will provide client solutions in market sectors such as Aviation, Civic, Higher Education, Healthcare, Judicial, and Sports.

What you’ll do

  • Prepares mechanical designs and performs calculations in support of large commercial real estate projects – both renovation and new construction.

  • Support a team of senior engineers with planning the layout of a project and integrating engineering elements into a unified design for client review and approval

  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

  • Prepares scaled drawings and contract documents for building contractors.

  • Provide support for the team with construction administration duties and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.

  • Leads integration of technical activities and products including the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from a four-year university, a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electrical engineering design role.

  • Experience with Revit is strongly preferred

  • EIT Certification is desirable but not required

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Electrical Engineer – Staff Designer position is $95,000 annually and the maximum salary is $110,000. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
