You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) in the Administration Department of the Administration Directorate, Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training Activity (NOSTRA), Yorktown, VA.
You will collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and compose correspondence for the command.
You will update, revise, sort, calculate, and manipulate data to meet multiple report formats and produce standard reports.
You will interface with servicing Human Resource Office (HRO) specialists concerning personnel actions.
You will participate in developing and modifying procedures for command personnel training.
You will participate in the development and management of civilian and military awards.
Conditions of Employment
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience preparing correspondence, reports, and other documents in draft and final form using a word processing application; Experience collecting, analyzing, updating, calculating, and/or manipulating data to meet multiple report formats and produce standard reports; Experience initiating, monitoring, and tracking requests for personnel actions; Experience developing and planning for personnel developmental and training program needs based on mission priorities and costs for on-the-job and skills training; Experience managing the military and civilian awards process for the command to include participating with management in developing awards and recognition policies and procedures; and Experience reviewing directives for consistency with established policies. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
