Lockheed Martin System Safety Engineer - Entry Level in Mount Laurel, New Jersey

An engineer working in the System Safety Engineering group will contribute to a wide variety of projects based on our business needs. The engineer will work as an independent contributor with team leadership to perform Systems Safety Engineering tasks in support of project objectives.

The engineer will work on tasking which will include requirements analysis, interface analysis, and operations analysis, as well as system safety test and verification. The engineer will have the opportunity to grow skills and understanding of System Safety Engineering, as well as other technical disciplines. System Safety Engineers work directly with customers and project leadership to report out on safety analyses. Engineer will be responsible for preparing reports, reviewing subcontractor safety documentation and analysis, and leading various safety program tasks.

The engineer should be capable of working in a team-oriented, fast paced environment, supporting multiple projects and proposals. Proven communication, team building and project management skills required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. US citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications :

- B.S./MS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent is required for this position.

- Demonstrated potential to work with systems engineering processes including top-down design starting from high level system requirements through the allocation of system components, equipment, computer programs, and across organizations.

- Familiarity with design of computer programs, control systems, and integration and test of system and subsystem components.

- Ability to utilize system safety processes and analysis.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

- Analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to comprehend and work successfully with complex systems.

- Experience with weapon system development, radar development, electrical hardware design

- Experience with Requirements and Model Based Engineering tools (i.e. DOORS, CAMEO)

- Experience in software development tools and methodologies (i.e. Agile, DevSecOps)

- Experience with safety standards (i.e. MIL-STD-882, OSHA, NAS-411)

- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
