This position is part of the development team for Command for Hauling which has over 500 autonomous trucks in the field and safely moved over 1 billion tonnes of material in 2021. The team works in a dynamic environment that supports flexible work hours and a hybrid schedule, splitting time between working from home and in-person collaboration in the office in Mossville, IL.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Autonomy Engineer is to design, code, improve, and troubleshoot complex application software features for autonomous mining trucks. These features will vary in scope but will be both tailored to your strengths as well as allow you to broaden your horizons. Areas of development could include perception, planning, positioning, and control. As part of this role, you will work closely with a variety of teams to determine requirements, understand the application and machine, and validate your work.

Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
At least 5 years of experience in a related industry with at least 2 years of focused software development
An advanced degree (i.e. Masters, PhD) in an Engineering or Computer Science curriculum with at least 2 years of experience in a related industry with those 2 years primarily being focused on software development
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Experience with the design and development of complex autonomous vehicles
C++ and Python programming experience
Experience in Mining or with Large Mining Trucks
Design or analysis of vehicle systems
Development experience in a Linux environment
The location for this position is Mossville, IL
