Review daily work for completion of all meter readers to ensure reading schedule is current; review daily re-read and second reading assignments of individual meter readers to ensure outstanding work is completed within specified time interval; carefully document and record the daily loading and unloading of hand-held meter reading devices; ensure that devices are properly loaded and unloaded daily; schedule all new routes in the proper reading order to ensure timely reading and billing; provide complete field and office training for all new personnel; and ensure that all personnel have the proper equipment to complete daily tasks.Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Schedule and assign meter reading routes on a daily basis to all meter readers to ensure that the reading schedule is kept current and on schedule.
+ Load and unload daily work assignments in hand-held meter reading devices through the use of a computer; and coordinate with the Department of Information Technology on any data processing problems involved in the loading or unloading.
+ Coordinate with billing supervisor on any meter reading problems to keep reading and billing cycle current.
+ Investigate any unread meters, meter discrepancies, or meter problems which meter readers report.
+ Supervise, hire, train and initiate any personnel action necessary for any meter reader personnel to ensure that the actions taken and duties performed conform to established codes, polices and procedures.
+ Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.
+ High school or GED.
+ Three (3) years' experience in meter reading.
+ At least one (1) year supervisory experience.
+ Good driving record with valid driver's license
+ Ability to pass physical and background check
+ Class D Water and Class D Wastewater Operators licenses must be acquired in first year of employment
+ Will be required to work overtime, as needed.
