Fairview Health Services Nursing Monitor Tech (Telemetry Tech) in Minneapolis, Minnesota


Fairview Health Services is looking for a Nursing Monitor Technician at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN on our Cardiology unit.

Responsibilities/Job Description

This position is responsible for:

  • Observing and monitoring a central bank of patient information related to EKGs oxygen saturation and BP's

  • Prompt communication to RN if there are any changes in these parameters

This position may also work as a Nursing Station Technician under the direction of a nurse to assist in:

  • Delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities

  • Transporting patients and equipment

  • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms

  • Reordering and stocking supplies



  • Active status on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry

  • Basic Life Support is required

  • Student nurses who have completed two semesters of clinicals and will be completing and passing the Nursing Assistant registry exam within 6 months of hire will also be qualified

  • Minimum of one year as an Nursing Station Technician on Cardiac Telemetry OR a current Nursing student with successful completion of one year clinicals


  • Completed technical, college or internal Fairview HUC program or equivalent and related experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and hospital procedures

  • Communication skills such as clear speech, ability to read, legible handwriting, and basic computer skills

Vaccination Update
