Job Summary The Business Manager will help the PFS team become best-in-class and support the development and execution of strategies that delivers growth to PFS. The Business Manager is responsible for supporting current and new customers and markets. The position is responsible for manufacturing/purchasing support, sales support, and supporting the execution of the strategic growth plan for the BU. This position reports to the Director of Sales and Operations. Preferred location: Grand Rapids, MI or from any UFP location for suitable candidate. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Function as customer service and support representative and provide technical assistance to PFS customers. Provide administrative support to leaders to enable day-to-day operations for their teams and initiatives. Support efforts related to maintaining building code compliance and product certifications as needed for PFS. Process accounts payable invoices via receiving, assigning allocation of funds and account, and work with UFP accounting to distribute to proper accounts. Work with existing PFS vendors and identify new vendors to secure raw materials for manufactured products. Place orders for supplies and raw material product ingredients by generating purchase orders. Create shipping documents, approve orders, and generate invoices to customers. Maintain raw material and finished good inventory to ensure we have materials to place orders. Maintain system quarterly inventory counts. Receive all orders of materials into the toller locations. Generate Miscellaneous orders and Misc POs for supplies as needed. Work with toll manufacturers to manage inventory of raw materials at tolling locations, approve batches of product as needed, function as technical consultant to tollers. Enter PFS sales orders and purchase orders as needed. Provide industry representation in AWPA, Treated Wood Council. ASTM and building code agencies, etc. Assist with project coordination within the team. Assist/coordinate new employees onto the team. All other tasks as required. Qualifications Personal Attributes: Business acumen with the ability to create solutions and identify opportunities for customer solutions. Capable and comfortable speaking at many levels including maintenance personnel, engineers, procurement managers and executives. Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit. Interested in innovation (both product & service) and acts as an agent for change. Ability to discern trends and utilize voice of customer data to generate insight and form strategies. Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the US. Up to 25% time requirement is possible. Experience Required for the Role: Minimum associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, wood science, chemical engineering or related field of study. Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking. Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook) Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels. Ability to cross-functionally collaborate, communicate and build consensus. Ability to manage several activities or projects at once, organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and budgets. Ability to be mobile in the work environment, & travel as required. Ability to use a computer, business software and hand-held devices. Ability to pass a drug test. Compensation & Benefit Information: Pay Range: $7 ,000 - $95,000 annually dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living Bonus/Incentive Pay: Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
