RSM US LLP Payroll Specialist in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Payroll Specialist position is responsible for completing tasks associated with payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely delivery of employee pay. The tasks include but not limited to time card review, data entry, payroll processing including file distribution, tax system setup/review, Partner/Owner payroll, garnishments, additional pay/deduction processing, new hire and termination processing, audit review, international adjustments, reconciliation, general ledger processing and creation of queries and ad hoc reports. The Payroll Specialist supports all employees, owners and departments with questions and requests. This role reconciles and audits payroll data and prepares the year-end annual tax statements. Essential Duties Reviews the payroll of RSM LLP's payroll and affiliates for accuracy and ensures timely delivery. Review the payroll or job data changes to ensure proper handling for firm policies and application of Federal, state and local government requirements. Verifies the Owner/Partner payroll for proper handling. Runs and reviews reports for payroll balancing. Audits data, proof tasks before completion and analyzes information to ensure accuracy. Provides customer service support to internal customers and provide guidance to HR personnel regarding the firm policies and procedures, governmental regulations and Federal, state and local tax requirements. Reviews employee terminations to ensure accurate payment of wages and final pay, proper handling of deductions, calculations of overpayment and repayments, and compliance with state final pay requirements. Handles final pay arrangements working closely with HR and according to firm policies. Reviews the job data, and employee record changes to ensure that changes are compliant with the Firm's guidelines, state and local tax requirements, and Governmental agency requirements. Reviews Federal, State, and local tax changes to ensure firm compliance. Review the employee's tax and employment changes process to ensure that changes are compliant with the Firm's guidelines, state and local tax requirements, and Governmental agency requirements. Process and run tests for tax updates to the payroll system for tax compliance. Review and balance company payroll for year-end tax reporting.
