Vesuvius, USA Sr. Account Manager in Middletown, Ohio

Job description:

Grow the business by building successful, long-term customer relationships; manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success; develop positive relationships with customers; act as the point of contact and handle customers' individual needs; generate new business using existing and potential customer networks; resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner; conduct standard product investigations and coordinate/lead trials and projects; coordinate with and assist M&T (technical) team to issue technical reports on all completed investigations and/or projects; supervise Service Technicians to ensure support needs are met; report on account status; set and track sales account targets, align with company objectives; monitor sales metrics (quarterly sales results and annual forecasts); suggest and implement actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth; manage daily service activities such as: inventory planning and forecasting, product usage forecast and delivery schedules, invoicing, and routine data collection and reporting; provide preventative and emergency equipment maintenance; coordinate customers personnel relative to installation and handling of refractory materials; recognize and act on opportunities for continuous improvement in: refractory performance, customer's efficiency, and Vesuvius' profitability; work with technical support teams to implement appropriate emerging technologies; and manage all project work at each assigned customer's site.

 

Job Requirements:

The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field, and 5 years' progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or any related occupation, to include 5 years' experience utilizing scanning electronic microscopes for inclusion analysis and slag evaluations within steelmaking operations; 3 years' experience utilizing hardness and tensile testing equipment in conjunction with steelmaking improvement projects; 5 years' experience with melting, refining, and casting activities within steelmaking operations; 5 years' experience in data acquisition and analysis Microsoft Access or other related programs; and 5 years' experience working on cost savings initiatives within the steelmaking industry. Employee will be required to travel 20% of the time on domestic trips that will last 1-2 weeks in duration. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
