Summary:

Facebook is looking for a Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Merchandising Program Manager. This person will be responsible for developing, communicating and implementing Physical Fixture merchandising programs for FRL products in a variety of third party retailers and channels in North America. This role plays an instrumental part in contributing to the FRL vision for our global customers to find, learn and experience FRL products through physical retail. This person needs to have a keen sensibility when it comes to working through everything related to merchandising, including a balancing act between the FB brand, third party retail needs and overarching timelines. They are responsible for translating FB strategic product and sales initiatives into compelling merchandising- fixture programs that reflect the brand while creating an exceptional customer experience. It is critical to have experience working with retail partners across a variety of channels with a specific focus on CE, Carriers, and Mass (Walmart, Target etc.). It is also critical to have a background in how physical displays and display technology come together to enable high compliance installations and seamless customer interactions.The primary role of the Merchandising Program Manager is to ensure that all visual merchandising components including fixtures, demo units, graphics and display technologies are designed and produced on brand, on budget, and on time to meet our channel marketing needs. The role is production oriented and is focused on producing and refreshing large volumes of fixtures and graphics across North America. This role is expected to partner with FB creative as well as external agencies to design, engineer and prototype displays for FRL products based on channel & retailer needs. The Merchandising Program Manager must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment working collaboratively across channel marketing, sales, creative, brand marketing, product marketing and external vendors. A robust understanding of how fixtures & printed elements are designed, engineered, manufactured, shipped and installed is extremely critical to be successful in this role.

Required Skills:

  1. Prioritize large volume of projects, most with tight deadlines, with the guidance of the Global Display Program Manager

  2. Partner closely with Channel Marketing, Product Marketing, Category and Creative to develop comprehensive display programs across a variety of retailer footprints

  3. Build out a merchandising playbook that can be handed off and translated beyond North America to support other regions

  4. Act as liaison between global fixture vendor partners, graphic companies, channel marketing managers, creative and marketing on any assets related issues that come up through the program

  5. Manage RFQ/RFPs with external vendors or agencies by partnering with the FRL procurement team

  6. Be involved in research pertaining to merchandising that includes but not limited to shopper journey and display evaluations

  7. Build highly detailed schedules for a variety of physical merchandising initiatives (ranging from product launch to simple temporary elements) and track them from inception to deployment with ability to inform cross functionally the whole way

  8. Follow established brand style guidelines when working with display concepts, graphics and any physical merch assets

  9. Review revisions and comments for multiple projects simultaneously

  10. Review engineering, prototypes, digital and printed proofs for all programs with a keen eye for detail

  11. Understand fixture production processes in order to properly prepare workback schedules and deliverables with the broader organization

  12. Understand various retailer requirements such as specific review processes (i.e. Best Buy T-Minus)

  13. Understand variety of manufacturing processes for both physical fixtures and graphic executions

  14. Process all invoices and work closely with the Global Display Program Manager to ensure all updates are on budget and tracked accordingly

  15. Negotiate with suppliers on pricing (design, engineering, fixtures and shipping costs)

  16. Manage vendor partner conference calls weekly to track update progress ensuring all deadline dates are on track

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of Merchandising experience

  2. Proven experience understanding the market, recognize product potential and lead assortment planning from a merchandising perspective

  3. Experience sharing program/project updates across broad teams and organizations - transparency is key within the FB culture and experience communicating, clear and concise cross functionally at all levels

  4. Capable developing processes, or when processes are in place, streamlining and making them more efficient and scalable

  5. High level of accuracy and attention to detail with experience tracking and articulating the intricacies of complex display programs

  6. Experience managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors

  7. Effective at managing conflict. Experience addressing issues between stakeholders swiftly in order to maintain a positive team spirit that is consistent with Facebook values

  8. Interpersonal skills, approachable and flexible

  9. Experience with navigating various organizational environments where culture and structure varies

  10. Understand how to create and manage project trackers

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree in Business, Graphic Design or a related field

  2. Brand side retail displays or vendor side of retail display experience

  3. Familiarity with North America retail partners and their guidelines/processes

  4. Experience within a brand executing a direct-to-consumer physical retail strategy

  5. History of developing and building retail displays within the consumer electronics categories

  6. Experience in bringing projects from concept stage through design, development, and execution

  7. Experience in working with sales, product, brand, channel marketing, and legal

  8. Experience maintaining budgets and fiscal responsibility

  9. Knowledge of presentation decks for executives and partners
