Citizens Cloud Engineer I in Massachusetts


Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Cloud Engineer for its Johnston, RI location.

Duties: Design and implement business critical cloud-based Platform solutions with automation-first mindset, observability, container design patterns and best of breed cloud tools and architecture practices. Collaboratively solve business and technology problems in partnership with key stakeholders from Digital Platform team, security, enterprise architecture and product owners. Contribute to container, microservices application code base and architecture with a focus on optimization for performance, reliability, scalability, security, observability and cost. Develop and implement solutions for non-functional requirements with a focus on automation, Whitebox monitoring, and modularity for broad re-use across system components. Design and implement CI/CD deployment pipelines and test automation frameworks based on best practices to enable frequent, high-quality releases. Define and implement application deployment strategies based on application type.


Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field and three years of experience in the role or in a related position. Full term of experience must include: Migration of on-premises infrastructure to Cloud native including upgrading monolithic applications to microservices. Automation and maintenance of large AWS Cloud Infrastructure for enterprise operations. Experience in AWS Cloud Platform but not limited to EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch and IAM, ensuring the application of best practices in relation to security and scalability. Management of S3 resources and implementing access privileges on S3 buckets. Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS CLOUD based system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of systems. Managing, maintaining, and evolving the cloud infrastructure of web applications. Work closely with architects and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements. Building and managing RedHat/Amazon Linux AMIs including administration of Operating System. Experience in Cloud automation tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins to deploy solutions to AWS servers, manage infrastructure changes, and support/manage DevSecOps practices at scale. Programming in Python. Improving remediation processes via automation for maximum efficiency and reliability. Undertaking complex analysis of system performance and related research to assess software patches, registry updates and other configuration changes required to harden systems and remediate known security vulnerabilities. Providing security remediation-related services and support to meet the latest compliance and organizational patch governance requirements.
