Purpose of the Role

The Cluster Digital Shelf Manager is responsible for the Retail Digital Shelf across all Channels, Customers and Markets in South of Europe and France.

You will be an expert in E-Commerce Content and the Retail Digital Shelf. You will lead the ongoing activation of best-in-class content management including content creation, technical implementation (e.g. Salsify), ways of working and content performance & measurement.

Your main objective will be to ensure all J&J products (Skin Care, Personal Care and Self-Care) are optimised, with best-in-class content to drive product visibility on retailer websites, and increased shopper conversion. To do this, you will be confident in liaising with multiple groups and teams; Brand Squads, Cluster E-Commerce, Key Account Managers, Regional Teams and Partner Agencies or Tools.

Your role will cover Digital Shelf Management for the total South of Europe Cluster, primarily focusing on France, Spain and Italy. You will consider the importance and execution of content across all channels; Pureplayers, E-Pharmacies, Brick & Clicks and New Businesses.

Key Accountabilities

  • Content optimisation and asset creation in partnership with Brand Teams, Local Key Account Managers, Cluster Teams, Regional Teams and Agencies

  • Content expert for the Cluster; a go-to consultant for new customer content requirements, or tools for measurement/content creation.

  • Development of a capabilities / training plan to engage marketing and sales teams in the importance of e-commerce content and the retail digital shelf in the shopper journey

  • Being the main point of contact for the content agencies across the SEF Cluster, in addition to sourcing new external agencies / capabilities

  • Thought leadership and development of new processes and ways of working to optimise the speed to market for e-commerce content across base business and new products

  • Super user and Management of Salsify platform (PIM) across the Cluster, developing a roadmap for roll-out in multiple markets with IT/E-Comm Cluster Team

  • Occasionally attend customer meetings and build case studies on content improvements and successes

  • Measurement and reporting of Digital Shelf optimisations and progress, to track performance in partnership with Cluster E-commerce Analyst

  • Core member of the Cluster E-Commerce Capabilities Team, and SEF E-Comm Agile Team



  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher

  • 3 years content creation experience either in a marketing role or e-commerce role is a must

  • 3 years’ experience in an e-commerce environment/role, with some ownership of e-commerce content management/ownership is appreciated

  • English speaking to a professional level

  • Spanish, Italian or French are appreciated but not mandatory

Technical / Professional Skills

  • Ability to drive strategy and change, while implementing, analysing and reporting on numerous concurrent projects

  • Ability to navigate well in ambiguity

  • Appetite and willingness to lean into Agile methodologies and ways of working

  • Record of making decisions and implementing change

  • Experience with Project management and stake holder influence

  • Analytical skills, to make data driven decisions & identify opportunities

  • Assessment of market landscape and competition
