Boeing Research & Technology is seeking to hire a Design for Manufacturing Engineer . The position can be located in our offices either in Madrid, Spain OR Munich, Germany.
Conduct research and/or support to product development in this field, with emphasis in structural, mechanical and production engineering as well as in modeling and simulation of production systems.
Contribute to the development of novel engineering methods, processes, training and tools
Develop and document novel ideas, file patent applications
Analyze and efficiently present engineering results.
Contribute to the preparation of original project proposals and capture funding
Find opportunities to integrate projects with other disciplines – adopt a multidisciplinary mindset
Promote maintain meaningful partnerships with internal and external partners and customers
Potentially mentor younger colleagues
Contribute to develop technical strategies
Participate and potentially lead Agile scrum teams
Occasional travel may be required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or similar with strong background in Systems Engineering, Software, Digitalization, Modeling & Simulation and research. Engineering (5+ years of experience).
Demonstrated technical judgment and initiative. Self-motivation and Research Experience are a must.
5+ years ‘experience in Modeling and Simulation related to Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering
Experience with commercial off-the-shelf modeling & simulation tools. CATIA V5 and MATLAB/SIMULINK are a must.
Analytical and interdisciplinary thinking is a must.
Demonstrated experience in Research and Physical Reasoning
Fluency in English and good communication, presentation and technical writing skills is a must.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in Systems Engineering and Product Development along the full lifecycle of an engineering product covering requirements management/definition, safety/reliability analysis, architectural definitions, integration and test.
DS 3DX, DELMIA V5, MODELICA and similar are a strong plus.
Experience in ENOVIA is a strong plus.
Experience in Software Engineering/Software Architecture is a strong plus.
SysML, C++, Linux are a strong plus.
Experience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly is a strong plus.
Experience in Industry 4.0 and Digital Twin Technology is a strong plus.
Knowledge in airplane systems and/or airplane production systems is a strong plus.
Experience in Statistical Analysis is a strong plus.
Scrum and Agile are a strong plus.
Experience in automotive or other industries is a strong plus.
Previous work/College experience in multicultural environments will be very useful.
German, Spanish and other European languages are a plus.
Deep understanding of modeling of systems and/or production systems is a strong plus.
MS or PhD are a strong plus.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
