JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Physicians with the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a progressive outpatient setting. They are also provided the opportunity to grow the next generation of physicians through hands-on instruction of residents, fellows, and medical students. A competitive salary and benefits package is provided. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive patient care in the outpatient setting. Duties include establishing and growing a practice of Obesity Medicine within the multidisciplinary, comprehensive UW Health Metabolic & Bariatric Weight Management Program. This high-volume MBSAQIP Certified Bariatric Center at UW Health East Madison Hospital is a regional leader in obesity care, research and teaching. The practice will be integrated into the existing bariatric surgery clinic. Other duties may include clinical teaching of medical student residents, and fellows, as well as administrative duties. The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with a diverse population or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population.
