Media Clerk Mentor Internal Clerical Only $100 Stipend per person mentored Position Summary Serves as a trusted advisor providing a sounding board to day-to-day issues the mentee may experience on-the-job and provide alternate perspectives on issues. Duties and Responsibilities (These duties and responsibilities are judged to be "essential functions" in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA) Provides District level training to new hires or those on performance plans to ensure consistent district-wide policies and procedures are followed. Guides mentees using their knowledge and experience towards growing the individual and helping with their success. Observes mentee and provides appropriate and timely constructive feedback. Be a resource and point-of-contact for questions and/or concerns for mentee. Check-in with mentee periodically to evaluate and address their questions or concerns. Encourages the explorations of ideas and learning to mentee. Build mentee confidence. Education: This position requires high school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Currently working in the role that they will be mentoring. Minimum five (5) years of experience working in that role in the district. All performance evaluations must be minimally "meets all expectations" in all areas for the previous five years.

Knowledge: Knowledge of district-wide policies and procedures related to the role they will be mentoring, required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, required. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures, required. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, required. Abilities: Ability to read and interpret district policies, guidelines, handbook, and government regulations, required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, required. Ability and willingness to learn different software systems, required. Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others, required. Ability to effectively communicate and be a good listener, required. Mentor Sessions A minimum of ten (10) hours not to exceed twenty (20) hours of time must be spent between the mentor/mentee during the mentee's probationary period.

Evaluation Mentors will be evaluated by mentee's as to their effectiveness in the role in order to continue in the role.
