Aerotek Machine Operator in Machesney Park, Illinois


Set up, operate, or tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, bend, metal material.

Ability to read blueprints

Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.

Load work pieces, metal material, into machines.

Set up, operate, or tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, or bend metal material.

Start machines, choose correct program for desired part, monitor their operations, and record operational data.

Test and adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications, and using gauges and hand tools.

Clean and lubricate machines.

Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.

Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices.

Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinders.

Uses forklifts and cranes to move parts

Ability to lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout the day.

Ability to stand in one position for long periods of time.

Ability to read tape measures & Calipers and perform basic math.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Also, the pay structure for a Machine Operator is as follows:

• Temp: $16 per hour

• At time of conversation: $16.00 per hour plus $1.00 for 2nd shift prem

• At 6 months: could potentially be at $16.50 so long as performance, attitude, attendance safety, quality is good. Then after 1 yr, up to $17.00/hr

Schedule: Monday – Thursday / 4pm – 2:30am
