Humana Risk Management Lead in Louisville, Kentucky


The Risk Management (Insurance) Lead develops, recommends and administers risk management and loss prevention programs, such as property and casualty insurance and professional (malpractice) liability service (excluding insured employee benefit plans) and clinical risk, to attain maximum protection at the most economical rates. The Risk Management (Insurance) Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.


The Risk Management (Insurance) Lead Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

  • a Bachelor's degree

  • 8 or more years of Risk Management experience

  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience

  • Must have experience working for a national insurance broker working with large commercial accounts

  • Must have property and casualty insurance license

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred designations CPCU, CIC, ARM

  • Commercial insurance underwriting experience a plus

  • Property and casualty insurance license in multiple states
