UCLA Health Study Coordinator (SRA I) in Los Angeles, California
Description
The Department of Medicine is looking for a motivated Study Coordinator (Staff Research Associate I) to assist with and conduct clinical research studies related to Nephrology. In this role, your clinical research duties will include recruiting subjects, screening participants for multiple research studies, conducting clinical study visits, follow-up, regularly updating computer databases, entry and management of research data, study file maintenance and other administrative tasks and general duties. Tasks also include laboratory duties and maintenance of all study protocols. You will also assist with regulatory document and budget preparation and submission and will be responsible for ensuring all research activities follow applicable study protocols as well as the strict rules, regulations and policies mandated by the FDA, Institutional Review Board (IRB), study sponsors or any other applicable regulatory agencies. You will also be involved in the outreach and education under the UCLA CORE Kidney Program. Working locations will vary between Westwood clinical research offices and off-campus clinical research offices; you must be able to travel between locations as needed based on current study activities and research schedule.
Target hourly rate: $24.88-$29.67Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of and experience with clinical research studies, protocols, and IRB submissions
Ability to understand complex medical protocols and compose consent documents to a lay audience in a simplified, yet complete manner.
Ability to apply administrative skills in various functions in the research office: coordinate patient appointment, communication with lab / pharmacy.
Skill in report writing, editing and proof reading.
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships.
Working knowledge of good clinical practices for clinical research.
Ability to handle confidential material with judgment and discretion.
Ability to work in a fast paced office and be able to prioritize and organize projects through multiple phases, meet deadlines and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously with careful attention to detail and with minimal supervision under the pressure of frequent interruptions.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Experience with electronic medical record systems.
Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify patterns and formulate conclusions.
Skill in setting priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Ability to creatively, integrate competing demands of a multidisciplinary setting into a productive working environment.
Math skills sufficient to process reimbursement forms, perform, and create simple reconciliations and reports as requested.
Preferred:
Previous experience in Nephrology
Previous experience with patients on dialysis.
Bilingual in Spanish
