UCLA Health Cook, Per Diem - Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles, California
This Cook position is responsible for performing a variety of duties relevant to the retail food service operations in the cafeteria. Tasks include setting up service lines, pre-plating foods, preparation of meals, cooking, working the grill, omelet, and stir-fry station, and serving customers.
You will also be responsible for:
Reviewing menus, production sheets, recipes and tallied items to verify needs for the day.
Bake, roast, grill, boil and steam meat, fish, vegetables and other foods as required.
Clean, peel, cut, slice, dice, weigh and measure ingredients for recipes as required.
Plate and/or garnish food for attractive presentation.
This is a "as needed" per diem part-time role and work hours + schedule can vary. This position may be required to work in multiple UCLA Health sites such as Westwood and Santa Monica.
Salary range: $22.64-$22.64 HourlyQualifications
Must have ServSafe or equivalent safe food handling certificate.
Experience cooking in a professional setting.
Knowledge and experience with fry grills, knives, meat slicers, steam cookers, ovens, food choppers, and food mixers.
Ability to work in a standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop and reach repetitively.
Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet areas.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs; push and/or pull 350+ lbs.
Ability to conform to dress code.
Good personal grooming habits.
Ability to use strong cleaning solutions.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English.
Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers.
