Actalent Project Manager in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Description:

The project manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of projects for government clients. They oversee all aspects of the project, from initial planning and budgeting to final delivery and closeout. They must have experience in project management and a strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.

The project manager must be able to develop and manage project plans including defining the scope, schedule, and budget for the project, identifying and assessing environmental risks, developing and implementing environmental mitigation plans, and tracking progress against project plans and making adjustments as needed.

The project manager works directly with clients to ensure all project deliverables fall within the applicable scope, schedule and budget. Supervises project support staff and manages subcontractors. Facilitates coordination with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and staffing requirements are met as needed to fulfill client needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Be able to plan, execute, and monitor projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

  2. Be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be able to meet with clients on a regular basis to provide project briefings and clarify specific requirements of the project.

  3. Be able to delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.

  4. Be able to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.

  5. Be able to meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints and schedule based on financial analysis.

  6. Be able to identify resources, develop cost estimates and support procurement of equipment, supplies and other resources.

  7. Be able to develop comprehensive project plans and timelines and deliverables to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.

  8. Be able to lead and motivate a team of people to achieve common goals. Be able to identify and comply with all applicable environmental regulations.

  9. Be able to provide mentoring to field staff.

  10. Be able to identify and solve problems in a timely and effective manner.

  11. Ability to use GIS to produce maps and drawings.is a plus.
