Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

Large aerospace facility needs Machining fabricators (machinist) for the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm). This is a union position so pay will be $36.63 to start with overtime available.

This position will assist in the assembly, fabrication, and weld preparation of aerospace metal ducting systems. It is a combination of the following jobs: CNC Lathe or CNC Mill Setup Specialist, Journeyman Machinist, or Tool Maker Specialist. Machining fabricator will be for a large aerospace company in Long Beach/Los Alamitos area. Union position so pay rates are set for new hires and increase over time.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform close tolerance set-ups of CNC Lathes/Mills, Conventional Lathes/Mills, and other Machine Shop Equipment to obtain maximum work output from machines while holding dimensional tolerances.

• Validate and optimize new CNC programs.

• Suggest improvements to old CNC programs (i.e., continuous improvement).

• Start a tool and complete it to final approval.

• Perform grinding of own form tools.
