Ankura's Data Privacy practice within Data & Technology is currently seeking a Senior Associate specialising in Data Governance to join the team. He/she will work in a collaborative team environment that spans across Ankura’s multidisciplinary areas of expertise. This role would be ideally suited to an individual who has performed a senior role in an in-house data governance function or has significant consulting experience advising clients on data governance & data management best practice. Responsibilities As a Senior Associate, you will be working closely with the Data Governance & Data Privacy project leads to become familiar with the clients' challenges and working to design and deliver solutions. You will execute critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Assist with project scoping calls and developing work stream process plans.

  • Lead client meetings during project lifecycle and involving the correct internal and external parties in order to efficiently progress.

  • Perform the lead role during independent data governance assessments or delivery of data governance artefacts for a client’s implementation programme.

  • Quality control reviews of junior team members deliverables and work processes.

  • Manage time, tasks, and resources to meet internal and external deadlines; and

  • Lead and support the delivery of client communications, both written and oral, throughout the lifecycle of the project.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a solid academic performance.

  • Relevant industry-specific in data governance, data privacy or data compliance.

  • Consulting experience related to data governance, compliance and/or data privacy.

  • Project management experience including understanding of project life cycles (PMP or other project management certifications).

  • Knowledge of data governance program management and implementation including ability to deploy data governance controls and processes in an agile environment.

  • Knowledge of various data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA and HIPPA.

  • Ability to engage in team-oriented projects within a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, logic-based skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage time and prioritization of task.

  • Ability to prepare high quality work products and deliverables under strict deadlines.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), qualitative, presentation and organisational skills.

  • Strong work ethic, eagerness for continued development, and motivation to succeed.

  • Prior experience or interest in developing & coaching junior team members.

  • Creative and innovative thought process.

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.

Preferred Requirements

  • Certified Data Management Professional accreditation preferred.

  • CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT preferred.

  • Good understanding of cloud computing, its benefits and how organisations should be designing their cloud environments to support best practice data governance.

  • Understanding of database and analytical technologies including Data Warehouse design, BI reporting, and dashboard development.

  • Big Four or Boutique Consulting background
