The salary range listed represents a broad salary range for this position. It is anticipated that this position will begin at $3,160.00 per month, depending upon internal equity, experience, education, and training.

Description of Job

Position provides office support for Chair of Business and Chair of Health, Science & Math Department, Director of EMS/Fire Science, fulltime Business, Health, Science, Math, EMS and Fire Science faculty and various part-time faculty. Support includes: help with Excel, typing, proofreading, and copying of daily work (tests, etc), editing and typing correspondence, completing forms, input of information into Banner, updating advising guides, keeping the departmental web pages and EAB up-to-date, checking student prerequisites, attending meetings as scheduled to take, transcribe, and distribute minutes, input data for adjunct pay, and assist with inputting data for faculty FLAC records. Aids faculty with FBLA event, Business Advising Nights, Awards Events, Tax Help Colorado, and Math/Science contests. Prepare mass notifications, copy and number tests, acquire and pack supplies as needed for test days, distribute meal tickets and test packs, account for completed tests, prepare and email results, mail certificates to schools, directs people to correct area on test days, prepares and posts signage, track school registrations and payments. Also help with the American Red Cross administrative duties.

Receptionist duties include: answer telephones, take messages, prepare correspondence with students, answer students questions relating to classes, activities, fees, faculty schedules, and office locations in addition to directing them to other campus areas. Prepares and delivers mail to mailroom and picks up and distributes mail for each of the departments served. Attend meetings when needed to take notes and prepare official record of meetings.

Computer registration of students in classes during registration periods and add/drop of classes until census date. Make sure faculty provide proper documentation for changes. Inputs schedules using Banner, verifies student addresses, major and advisor, forwards data to Records and Student Success office. Informs students throughout semester on proper procedure for schedule changes.

Order and purchase office, lab, classroom, printer and copier supplies as needed by faculty. Reallocate and track credit card purchases for various faculty as needed. Aids faculty and students involved in clubs in preparing, ordering food and supplies for activities and events, monitoring budgets, collecting needed information, collecting fees, making deposits.

Accurately processes FLAC work assignments and maintains accuracy on faculty loads and adjunct hourly assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only: Twenty-four months (24) of clerical experience as the primary function of the job which must include customer service and proficiency using Microsoft Office applications. In order to be considered for this position your clerical experience, customer service and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications must be documented on your application. Daily interaction with students, faculty and staff require that this position have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Candidate must have experience providing excellent customer service and interfacing with a variety of people from many levels within the organization and community. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Computer literacy is a must. Do not use "SEE RESUME" statements on application; your application must be completed in detail and clearly document your relevant work experience. (Part time experience will be pro-rated).

Education and Experience: College, university or non-correspondence business school course work from an accredited institution in Business or similar field may substitute for the experience on a year for year basis however, there is no substitution for the customer service experience or proficiency using Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Please provide a detailed description on your application of your relevant work experience and document examples of your work in relation to the following: S trong planning and organizational skills. Clerical experience involving a wide range of general office skills to include filing, answering telephones in a professional manner, 10-key calculator function, and keyboarding. Prior experience working with Banner or similar system is highly desired. Attention to detail (ability to check for typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors, etc.) Self-starter, detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills. Prior work experience at a community college or other academic environment. Strong written communication skills. Prior experience working in a busy front office. Prior experience entering information into a database. Ability to work with a diverse population with discretion and tact.
