POSITION SUMMARY: As a Quality Systems Coordinator your primary function will be to work with all departments and our Corp. Quality Manager on strategic quality objectives including successfully retaining and adding additional branches to Thruway’s AS-9120 Rev. B and ISO-9001, 2015 Quality Certification. A secondary function will be to provide backup on-site and remote tactical quality support to all Thruway locations.

Your contribution will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative team environment, streamlining processes, and fostering the company cultural belief that quality is every employee’s responsibility.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Assist CQM in maintaining, developing and documenting quality control procedures (PR), work instructions (WI) and Quality Manual (QM) in our computerized quality software system (C-Pro).

  • Training and ensuring branch level personnel know and follow all QM, PR’s, and WI’s.

  • Assist/Lead in preparing for and undergoing audits: Customer, Vendor and Certification.

  • Understand and implement concepts such as: Total quality management (TQM, Continuous improvement process, Six-Sigma and 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

  • Gather, post and distribute quality metrics to branch (month end, quarter end and year-end).

    SECONDARY FUNCTION:

  • As needed work with the Branch quality team in their daily quality functions: Receiving, documentation review and management, inspection, returns, inventory and customer support.

  • Evaluate and review customer drawings and specifications and complete hands-on inspection of product within needed time. Document results.

  • Act as point person (where assigned) on customer and vendor facing quality issues. From first awareness of issue, containment, root cause analysis and preventative action… until acceptance of long-term corrective action by customer or vendor.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Business Administration or a related technical field

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in a quality role

  • Experience with auditing or being audited to the ISO-9001 or AS-9100/9120 standard

  • Experience in manufacturing environments and Electro/Mechanical hardware

  • Working knowledge of QAQC principles: CAPA, 5S, TCM, Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement.

  • Experience or skillset to successfully provide team leadership, fostering a collaborative environment, and developing team members' skills

  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence

    TRAVEL: Time will be distributed between CQSC’s main Branch office and travel on-site to various Thruway locations as required (NY, PA or GA)

    Job Type: Full-time

    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

    Location: Syracuse, NY

    Compensation: $55,341-$70,000 per year
