The House Supervisor is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team. The House Supervisor assumes responsibility for facilitating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care for patients throughout the hospital on an assigned shift. Principle responsibilities include facilitating staffing to meet the needs of patients for care, providing clinical support, promoting patient flow, communication with other agencies, and response to internal or external disasters. In addition, the House Supervisor promotes clinical initiatives, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities. The House Supervisor acts as a resource and assists in problem solving and conflict resolution when necessary.
The House Supervisor may also work as a registered nurse in a variety of areas in the hospital based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities. As a Registered Nurse, the House Supervisor maintains current competency with nursing skills and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice.
As a Registered Nurse, the House Supervisor utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for patients for an assigned time. Principle responsibilities/expectations include the domains of nursing practice:

- Administering and Monitoring Therapeutic Interventions and Regimens
- Monitoring and ensuring the Quality of Health Care Practices
- Organization and Work-Role Competencies The House Supervisor demonstrates judgment, discretion, diplomacy and a working knowledge of Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures.
The House Supervisor remains calm in crisis and emergency situations, and directs staff members effectively and appropriately.
The House Supervisor maintains professional and effective working relationships with all members of the Health Care Team.

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care hospital
- Demonstrated experience in leadership/management and establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment
