Candidates must be able to meet the standards required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance
Summary of Duties
Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of engineering
Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Leads engineers in the preparation of construction documents
Conceptualizes the engineering design approach for major phases of projects and has production management responsibility (not responsible charge) for the structural engineering work on a project
Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e., constructability, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements)
Able to prepare a complete set of plans and supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with Architect and other consumers
Prepares schedules; conducts or coordinates structural engineering work
Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams
Prepares proposal documents, packages, and presentations
Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
Provides contract bidding and construction administration; observes project action on site
Supervises the work of less experienced managers, engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
Performs other duties assigned by a Principal, Associate Principal, or Associate
May be asked to travel to out of town assignments
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field)
U. S. Citizen
English Language
Licensed Professional Engineer with minimum of 5 years' experience
Success as an Assistant Project Manager

Phases
Pre-Design Phase:
Development of the project program
Assemble resource datea, i.e., existing drawings, etc.
Preparation of work scope and proposals for services.
Preparation of overall project schedule/timeline and in-house construction budgets by group responsibility
Design/Contract Document Phase:
Schedule, plan, host, or attend consultant meetings as necessary
Provide code review and resolution of problem areas
Provide submittals to local/state/federal agencies
Ensure completion of work per project schedule
Bidding Phase:
Issuing of bidding documents
Bid documents register
GC inquiries during bidding
Preparation and distribution of agenda
Maintaining record drawings
Storage and filing of project contract documents
Construction Phase:
Knowledge of construction contract requirements and codes
Research as needed on proposed changes and GC inquiries
Review and approval of construction change orders
Preparation and distribution of change orders
Preparation and distribution of contract modifications
Research on technical or contract document questions
Physical Demands
Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
