Five Star International, LLC Diagnostic Diesel Technician in Lancaster, Pennsylvania


Five Star is looking for an experienced Diagnostic Diesel Service Technician for Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with voluntary overtime available. This role will serve as one of the primary diagnostic technicians in the shop, triaging units at they arrive and providing repair plans within 2 hours for most failures. Duties can include: cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning. The successful team member has at least two years of fleet, dealership, and/or technical school experience. This candidate would have excellent time management skills, accuracy and speed in diagnostics, and detailed communication skills.

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment

  • Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures

  • Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined

  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed

  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly

  • Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk

  • Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction

  • 2-years+ fleet or dealership experience

  • 2-years+ experience diagnosing engine and chassis failures


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

  • Certifications in Navistar, Cummins, Eaton, and Allison preferred

  • CDL preferred

  • PA State Inspection License preferred

  • ASE certifications preferred
