We are seeking an Environmental Planner/Project Manager who will be responsible for managing environmental siting, planning, and permitting for renewable energy, natural gas, and electric projects. We are looking for a team member with an established and successful history of managing and leading tasks associated with renewable, natural gas, and electric energy projects. This includes developing proposals and cost estimates, executing project tasks, managing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring client satisfaction, and mentoring staf

Successful candidates will have a strong technical background in siting, permitting, and evaluating environmental impacts for energy projects, which may include solar, onshore/offshore wind, energy storage, natural gas, and electric transmission. Our ideal candidate will have pre-existing client relationships and a proven track record of winning work within the energy market.

Location: Anywhere within the U.S., with a preference for candidates in or near Colorado (location is flexible)

Your Role:

Manage environmental siting, planning, and permitting for renewable energy, natural gas, and electric projects.

Lead project management, team leadership, and mentor junior staff.

Direct and oversee energy facility siting/routing, permitting, environmental field surveys, resource analyses, agency coordination, public outreach, budget, and project tracking.

Prepare conditional use, land use, right-of-way, and other local jurisdictional permitting efforts.

Manage the preparation of resource studies (e.g., wildlife biology, wetlands, cultural resources) and permit applications to state and county jurisdictions.

Represent clients before federal, state, and local regulatory and land management agencies, boards, planning commissions, and councils.

Prepare project descriptions and summaries, respond to data requests, and present to governing jurisdiction representatives in public meetings.

Conduct literature research and data collection for environmental investigations and documentation.

Assist with public involvement, agency consultation, and planning.

Attend agency meetings, hearings, and other functions.

Qualifications:

6 to 10 years of applicable work experience.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with others, and work independently within a team.

Ability to research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations on a project-specific basis to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements.

Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking, a flexible approach to problem-solving, excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 yr.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work e perience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
