SOCAR Corporate Planning – Senior Executive in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

SOCAR aims to change the way people in South East Asia move around by becoming the biggest car-sharing platform in South East Asia. We are currently the biggest player in Malaysia and aim to scale out our product offering across more verticals and geographies.

What will you be engaged in?

  • To provide assistance on the preparation and development of the yearly company business plan. Which would also include developing facilitating the development of departmental and company-wide KPIs.

  • Tracking the performance of the company against conceived business plans, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.

  • Collecting data from various business channels and departments for the purpose of report preparation and analysis.

  • Preparation and periodic updating of business plan based on actual results and changes in the business environment.

  • To assist in preparing the monthly shareholder reports, quarterly BOD reports and periodic reports to shareholders.

  • To analyse and identify any opportunities to further improve cost-efficiencies and/ or topline numbers.

  • Periodic monitoring on the progress of various departments in terms of their KPI achievements.

  • To provide assistance on any ad-hoc assignments under the purview of Corporate Planning, Business Development and/ or Strategy team.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree (with honours) in Accounting/ Finance/ Business/ Economics or the equivalent. Candidates with Post-Graduate degree (i.e. Masters / MBA) are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Having a professional accounting qualification (i.e. ACCA, MICPA, ICAEW) is an added advantage.

  • At Least (3) three years of working experience preferably in Finance/ Accounting/ External Audit/ Internal Audit/ Deals/ Strategy Consulting. Candidates from Big 4 agencies (or the equivalent) are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Must be comfortable with numbers as candidates will be required to do basic P&L analysis and basic financial modelling.

  • Must have a collaborative approach to problem solving and be able to work under pressure, with tight deadlines.

  • Candidates without prior experience in the mobility sector are still encouraged to apply. However, candidates should be a self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, have the willingness to go beyond their comfort zone to learn new things and adapt to changes quickly.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a higher than basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint.

  • Possess “Big Picture” thinking, fuelling perseverance through follow up emails, calls, coordinating meetings and continuous engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using SQL/ Python or the equivalent is an added advantage.
