The RN Clinical Educator- Behavioral Health Service Line position works in collaboration with assigned leadership personnel to design an all psychiatric care staff development program that facilitates performance competence and the attainment of standards of care consistent with Kalispell Regional Healthcare’s (KRH) mission. Emphasis is on, but not limited to; courses, tools, and resources which address priority learning needs in relation to KRH strategies, goals, policies/procedures, and regulatory expectations. Responsible for coordinating the orientation, ongoing required education of RN’s and Mental Health Specialists (MHS’s).
*Performs ongoing formal needs assessments and collection of other pertinent information to identify priority learning needs and outcomes.
*Plans and develops educational strategies to meet identified needs and desired outcomes.
*Implements courses, tools, and resources to carry out education plans.
*Teaches and trains using principles of learning and effective methodologies.
*Evaluates actual learning outcomes and program effectiveness in relation to desired outcomes.
*Serves as a catalyst for change within organization by facilitating initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.
*Assumes formal and informal consultant role by assisting individuals and groups with input, feedback, solutions, and learning integration.
*Exhibits leadership behaviors by supporting and collaborating with organization and administrative structures and manages resources to achieve departmental and organization goals.
*Exhibits researcher role by designing, creating, and/or applying relevant research to support learning.
*Maintains education program documentation and records and files in accordance with organization policy and regulatory expectations. Educational liaison for all clinical staff.
*Serves as back up on call RN for Nurse Supervisor for nursing coverage as scheduled.
Current Montana RN license required. ANCC Certification in Psychiatric Nursing preferred, or must successfully obtain within one (1) year of hire.
BSN preferred. Master’s degree in nursing education or related field preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of acute psychiatric care clinical experience preferred. Teaching experience preferred.
Familiarity with practice standards and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated competency with classroom and computer-based training program development. Must be fluent in Microsoft computer skills/programs and ability to learn other software as needed.
Excellent communication, both verbal and written, required.
Must possess customer service and teamwork skills. Must manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and flexibility with ongoing/unexpected change.
