We are looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Automation Team within Controlled Environments. Here, you will help us grow what's next. We have an exciting opportunity to join our company at our Johnston, Iowa research facility.

We are looking for candidates who take initiative, love to learn, and enjoy work hard.

Responsibilities - What You Will Do:

• How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

• Sample various crops within the automated system according to a defined protocol

• Execute on various sampling events happening throughout the week and ensure plants are sampled within correct growth stage

• Troubleshoot and document automation issues and correct errors within the system

• Be responsible for execution of autonomous robot activity and prepping and monitoring workload throughout the day

• Assists with pot discards and movement of plants through the facility

• Executes on plant care tasks for various crops according to a defined schedule

• Works once every 6th weekend, with comp days

Qualifications

Requirements - Who You Are:

• Close attention to detail, and ability to follow standard operating and safety/ergonomics protocols

• Good communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude

• The ability work well independently

• The ability to drive company vehicles, such as tug. Hold a valid driver's license.

• Good basic computer skills including experience with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), willingness to gain competency with internally developed research software.

• Basic understanding of plant anatomy or experience with plant sampling is preferred.

• Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds and perform repetitive work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round

Hours:

Work shift 7:30AM - 4:00PM, M-F with rotational weekend work required (approximately every 6th weekend, 7:30AM - 4:00PM).
