Army National Guard Units ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (TITLE 32) in Jefferson City, Missouri

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a WG-2604-10 ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1204000 in SPMD 6021 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop. APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining unit position. Responsibilities Performs troubleshooting and routine repairs on individual components and moderately complex systems of launch pod/containers (LP/C), and trainer rocket simulator modules. Performs troubleshooting and routine repairs on individual components and moderately complex systems of Missiles/Launchers Pod Assemblies (M/LPA), trainer missile simulator modules, and various like items. Troubleshoots carrier electrical and power distributions systems components of the weapon system or equipment being repaired. Performs functional tests, analyzes performance and malfunctions on electronic, electrical, modules, and interconnecting cables of a variety of combat and tactical, and communication equipment. Removes, installs, tests, maintains, modifies, performs alignments and troubleshoots the electronic, electrical, modules, and interconnecting cables of a variety of combat and tactical, and communication equipment. Repairs or replaces chassis mounted components on Unit Under Test (UUT). Performs Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) operations for fault isolation on electronic modules, circuit cards and assemblies, and similar items to component level. Replaces faulty components on UUT printed circuit boards and power distribution systems. Utilizes oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital multi-meters, and other test equipment to locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions. Performs field and limited sustainment maintenance to include installation, routine maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed and mobile operational communication and electronics systems. Repairs, aligns, and adjusts infrared night vision sights, optical sights, and traversing units. Performs administrative functions in establishing and maintaining maintenance records on equipment maintained or repaired. Assists in the preparation of requests for required repair parts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS/AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade - MSG (E-8) Enlisted - CMF 25 or 94; MOS 13D, 13M, 13P, 13R, 14E, 14T, 14Z, 15E, 29E, 35T, 91A, 91F, 91G, 91H , 91K, 91M, 91P, 91S, 91X, or 91Z Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates knowledge of electrical or electronic theory; knowledge of common testing procedures; skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade; and skill in reading schematics. WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain electronic components and items. Experience must demonstrate skill in interpreting moderately complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems to recognize the function and interconnections of various assemblies and troubleshoot the components, assemblies, subassemblies, and connecting cable harnesses. Experience in using a wide variety of electronic test equipment such as systems test sets, frequency meters, standing wave indicators, oscillators, ohmmeters, voltmeters, resistance bridges, and signal generators, and the use of special and common hand tools, power tools and gauges. Education This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
