As a member of a dynamic Technical Writing and Communication team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Creating and editing software and hardware documentation for internal and external audiences, such as:
Deployment Guides, User Guides, Data Sheets, Technical Bulletins, Technical Overviews, Release Notes, Installation Guides, Troubleshooting, and Emergency Procedures, solution guides, "How To" guides, among others.
Researching, writing, and ensuring the accuracy of the content that covers current and future releases of our products.
Gathering relevant information from Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), System/Software Requirement Specification (SRSs), and presentations to create/update technical documents.
Collaborating with SMEs as required to gather necessary information for documents.
Receiving and incorporating feedback from Quality Assurance, Technical/Product Support, and Product Management.
Proofreading existing documents for technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and style sheet adherence.
Revising current documentation as information and configuration changes occur.
Managing the company’s documentation backlog.
Attending regular meetings pertaining to assigned projects.
3+ years of technical writing experience, in writing software and hardware installation procedures
Ability and willingness to submit a writing sample/portfolio
Demonstrated ability to translate complicated concepts into content that is accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise
Experience with publishing software —Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign, RoboHelp, and Word
Experience with graphics or photo imaging software —for example, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Corel Paint Shop Pro, TechSmith SnagIt, etc.
Experience in topic-based authoring – Advantage
Experience with Madcap Flare, Paligo, or other single-sourcing multi-publishing tools - Advantage
Knowledge of RFID/WiFi -Advantage
Excellent command of English (as a first language)
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work with geographically distributed team members and developers
Ability to work remotely
Experience working in an Agile environment
Ability to adapt to changing technical publication priorities
Able to meet rigorous deadlines
Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn
