Boeing Global Service (BGS) is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join their Virtual Maintenance Training (VMT) team in Jacksonville, FL .
A successful candidate will coordinate the resources needed to define resource requirements and understand the importance of engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering and Virtual Maintenance Training development. The position requires the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment that involves cross functional / business unit coordination to perform primary responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers’
Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements
Works with customers and management to obtain approval
Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
Leads project execution to complete the work statement. Identifies performance metrics
Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
Works under minimal direction
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience in software product development and delivery
5+ years of experience in software or hardware engineering, requirements, design, development, test, and working with software and hardware
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and experience leading teams
Experience working with SAFe development methodology
Ability to develop and report on technical execution plans
Ability to lead co-located and virtual teams in a multi-functional team environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Maintenance training development experience
Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, strong collaborative skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Personal skill building trust and relationships
Training experience as a maintenance training instructor, engineer, program or project manager
Previous training development leadership experience either in a manager or lead capacity
Experience in working with suppliers or other external stakeholders
Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $114,750 – $155,250
