Mechanical Design Engineer

Seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting development of advanced airborne systems including podded communication link and sensor systems, airborne armament equipment, alternate mission equipment, cockpit displays, avionics, and radar systems. Additionally, this role will support the integration of new and existing systems onto airborne, shipborne, and ground vehicles. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.

salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Required Skills:

 Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret

level clearance

 Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility

with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with

hardware – not afraid to use tools, assemble prototypes,

etc.

 Experience in the design, integration, or testing of

mechanical components and assemblies

 Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO

preferred)

 Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and

Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)

 Planning and organizational skills with ability to be

adaptable to changing priorities and assignments

 Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements

for systems

 Performing trade studies

 Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to

function in a dynamic environment, and have good time

management skills.

 Must have teaming skills, and good communication

skills.

 Proficient at one or more of Aircraft Structures Design,

Ground Structures Design, Electronics Packaging, or

Platform Integration

 Engineering Documentation Practices: Proficient

 Environmental. Testing: Competent

 Environmental Design: Proficient

 Mfg. Methods: Proficient

 Requirements: Proficient
