The Shippers Group HR Talent Manager in Hutchins, Texas

Job Descriptions:

Duties and responsibilities

HR Talent Manager will screen candidates, recruit associates, and follow through the placement of candidates. In addition, work closely with temporary staffing needs of facilities. The HR Talent Manager will use their advanced leadership abilities to motivate and energize teams by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will balance team demands and drive exceptional team performance.

Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Google Docs, ATS system and any other platform to maximize analytics and tracking of recruiting efforts.

  • Monitor and track: Time to Fill Time to hire; Source of hire; First year attrition; quality of hire, recruitment funnel effectiveness and sourcing channel effectiveness. (Listing not all inclusive)

  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs following requisition approval.

  • Source and recruit candidates using a variety of outlets, such as job postings and social media; send resumes to hiring managers.

  • Work with current staffing companies and create/establish relationships with direct hire recruiters.

  • Complete initial phone screening of prospective candidates. Perform pre-screening calls to analyze applicants’ abilities and align with position expectations.

  • Schedule interviews for candidates, providing a confirmation email that includes any information for the candidate and an employment application.

  • Schedule follow-up interviews & meetings associated with hiring & onboarding; utilize Google calendar to review teammates’ schedules to arrange further applicable interviews with a sense of urgency

  • Complete necessary paperwork, including New Hire Approval Forms (NHF) for offer letters.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information.

  • Understands and adheres to all external accreditation review standards, applicable state, local and Federal laws and/or regulations including maintaining confidentiality.

  • Understands and adheres to all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintains courteous demeanor at all times as well as establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers as well as all company associates.

  • Sets high goals or standards of performance for self.

  • Takes initiative to present ideas/suggestions to management utilizing proactive problem solving approach.

  • Utilizes appropriate communication lines in relaying problems, concerns, questions, and ideas.

  • Be a decision maker on where we should be recruiting candidates, with a focus on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in our talent pipeline

General HR Duties:

  • Administer background checks to remain compliant with our hiring standards in addition to setting up substance testing

  • Compose job offer letters; ensure documentation is recorded according to process

  • Provide benefit analysis including but not limited to: Auditing monthly insurance invoicing, Working with Benefit partners and leading open enrollment tasks and meetings.

  • Assist HR team with any other needed help.

Required Experience:

Qualifications

  • Some college with 5 plus years experience in recruiting and working in HR environment

  • Experience with Google Calendar, Google Slides, Slack, Excel, LinkedIn Recruiter, is helpful

  • Prior Recruiting experience in a warehouse/distribution environment required

  • Experience Recruiting for hourly and salary positions with proven strategies for attracting talent

  • Experience reviewing resumes with ability to recognize qualified candidates and rule out others

  • Experience prescreening candidates both over the phone, Webex and in person

  • Ability to create a summary of experience to effectively present candidates to Hiring Managers

  • Experience writing and updating job descriptions

  • Experience writing and updating job postings

  • Experience writing offer letters and managing background check processes

  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent computer skills Including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Extensive knowledge of recruiting platforms (Indeed, Monsters, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A positive attitude and approachable personality to gain good rapport with both Internal associates and candidates for open positions

  • Ability to keep confidential information private, always striving to protect the information of our current, past, and prospective associates

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Working conditions

Office and Warehouse environment may or may not be climate controlled. Heat, cold, dust, loud noises and repetitive sounds. This list is not all inclusive other environmental conditions may be present.

Physical requirements

Sit, Stand, Stoop, walk, bend, lift 40lbs. or more, hand and eye coordination, computer screen viewing, and repetitive movements. This list is not all inclusive, other physical requirements may be required.
