We are currently seeking an experienced Data Visualization Specialist to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics Department. The Data Specialist will work closely with the Data Science, Data Engineering and Business teams to solve real-world oil and gas midstream problems leveraging their expertise with data manipulation and visualization tools.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work independently on data projects for multiple business functions.

  • Implement data visualizations using Power BI and or Spotfire.

  • Create KPI’s, dashboards and alerts based on business requirements.

  • Connect and analyze data from multiple datasets from a variety of sources. including operational systems, BI systems, and the big data platform.

  • Assist Data Scientists in creating visualizations from machine learning models.

  • Transform data into a usable state for analytics and visualizations.

  • Optimize and performance tune SQL queries to improve response times.

  • Administration of the Power BI environment.

  • Create standards and best practices that enable publishing of reports across the enterprise.

  • Identify opportunities for data improvements and presents recommendations to management.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience creating visualizations with Power BI.

  • 3 Years of experience with administration of a corporate Power BI system.

  • 3 years of experience writing SQL queries.

  • 1 years of experience with Python or R.

  • 1 Experience creating visualizations with Spotfire.

  • Experience using self-service data manipulation tools such as Alteryx.

  • Familiar with popular machine learning and deep learning packages.

  • Experience sourcing data from different systems with a thorough understanding of their data models, ETL workflow, and tools.

  • Experience connecting to Hadoop based data sources a plus.
