Job Description

The role of HR Manager is pivotal to NOV. As the HR Manager, you will empower your team and key internal stakeholders with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively manage their personnel in alignment with operational, financial, and employee development plans. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the businesses to provide project management support and HR expertise for specific business-related projects. The HR Manager will oversee and direct both transformational advice and transactional support that will improve cost and efficiency, clarify accountabilities, and empower delivery of great customer service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, develop, and manage direct report(s) supporting assigned groups.

Develop and maintain a strong partnership between HR and facility/operations/functional management.

Implement, coordinate, and ensure consistent application of policies and programs within the facility covering the following areas: recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations.

Provide HR consulting expertise to all levels of management and employees within the facility.

Consult with employees and managers to address root causes of issues and resolve through a systematic and analytical approach.

Assure compliance with all applicable laws and corporate policies/guidelines.

Identify opportunities to develop and implement new and improved practices/guidelines to achieve business goals and communicate those to the Business Unit leadership.

Implement organizational HR initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness, including performance management systems.

Ensure that all HR administrative functions are handled in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist in establishing policies and procedures including disciplinary policies and monitor their application to ensure fairness and consistency.

Advise, review and approve any disciplinary, performance, and termination issues and/or concerns.

Provide guidance to managers regarding salary administration, recruitment, selection, etc.

Resolve employee complaints lodged directly to HR or through Risk Mitigation and those filed with any government agencies.

Keep abreast of all employment related laws and current HR related workplace issues.

Handle special projects as assigned

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Ten years of progressive HR experience or a bachelor’s degree in human resources (or a related field) and a minimum of 5 years previous experience. Previous management experience is highly preferred

Working knowledge of a manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of HR Project Management

Broad HR expertise, with a mix of operational, strategic, and systems thinking experience.

Identifying, implementing and monitoring HR KPIs and metrics

Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)

Working knowledge of HR systems (i.e. Oracle – HRIS/HUB)

Able to understand, evaluate and apply technical information (Functional/Technical Learning)

Able to understand the business needs and drivers and align with the strategic initiative (Business Acumen)

Anticipates the impact of change and rises to the challenge, with the ability to accept risk and uncertainty (Dealing with Ambiguity)
