The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. What you get to do every day

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & general ledger (G/L) analysis

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

Requirements

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are preferred

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Consolidated Financial Statements experience desired

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
