ExxonMobil Contract Manager - Pipeline - Category Management in Houston, Texas

Job Role Summary

The Contract Manager for Pipeline has overall responsibility to drive value and efficiency and expand market advantage via end-to-end category management (from strategy to implementation), while ensuring operational integrity. The Contract Manager is expected to manage the North American portfolio in the support of the Pipeline organization

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of agreements within the Pipeline category including

  • In-Line-Inspection Services

  • NDE/NDT Services

  • Steward tactical Client relationship for key portfolio activities; key business interfaces include Pipeline Executive Leadership

  • Support Category Specialist in development and implementation of category specific strategy and commercial guidance

  • Support North America growth projects across the Pipeline organization

  • Provide portfolio specific information to Category Specialist and network Contracts Lead

  • Identify business value and agreement rationalization opportunities within the portfolio

  • Process execution, full compliance with ExxonMobil controls culture

  • Ensure transactional efficiency of agreements (enterprise resource planning friendly agreements)

  • Active contribution in Category networks and use of category specific information

  • Supplier relationship management for global and local vendors

  • Support Contracts Lead work at other sites / regions as agreed with Category Specialists

Job Requirements

  • BS, MBA, MS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees

  • Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation and communication skills

  • A minimum of 3 years of contracting experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of Pipeline and/or Sales experience is preferred

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Category / commodity expertise

  • Procurement / commercial functional expertise

  • Supplier Relationship Management experience

  • Experience supporting Pipeline, Midstream, Refining, or Chemical businesses

  • Experience working in a co-located fashion with supported clients

  • Understanding of client business and objectives

  • Leadership skills / Communication skills

  • Analytical skills / understanding of total system cost concept

  • Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills

  • Knowledge of purchase to pay process including enterprise resource planning systems

  • Project planning / execution skills
